Free Initial Survey and Advice

We're happy to carry out an initial survey then advise you on your choice of fires. We don't charge for this service. We want to make sure the fire you choose is right for you.

The choice of fire is based on the type of flue available. ( See our quick guide below.) Plus, there are rules for your protection, governing the opening size, catchment area and ventilation requirements of gas fires.

Gas Fire Installation

We supply fires, but we're also happy to install a gas fire you have bought elsewhere. Please use our free initial survey before you buy, to help you make the right choice of fire.

Please don't take risks with a cowboy installer who is not Gas Safe registered - however cheap they are.

No Chimney ? No Problem.

A room can still benefit from the quick, cheap heat from a gas fire even if it does not have a chimney. Balanced flue fires just need an outside wall. If that's not available then you can use a flueless gas fire. Flueless fires use catalytic converters to turn the combustion products into harmless gases.

Gas Fire Flue Types : The Quick Guide

  • Normal : most gas fires use the full-size or slimline chimneys built into most homes.
  • Balanced Flue : balanced flue fires don't need a chimney or flue. They are mounted on an outside wall, and a small hole in the wall brings in fresh air and takes out exhaust gas. Balanced flue fires are always glass-fronted.
  • Power Flue : power flue fires are open fronted, making your room look warm as well as feel warm. A small electric fan, not visible form the room, extracts exhaust gas.
  • Flueless : modern flueless fires don't need a chimney or an outside wall. An integrated catalytic converter turns the combustion products into harmless gases.
